Cyanobacteria can be found in terrestrial, marine, and
freshwater habitats. They are primarily aquatic, meaning they are most commonly
found living in water. However, along with frozen lakes, some other habitats of
cyanobacteria include acidic bogs, the interior of solid limestone and dolomite
rocks, loose sand grains, shell hash, and volcanoes.
